Cordelia Prinsloo (1953 - 2009)
Brief overview:
Cordelia (56), a smallholder from Kameeldrift, was murdered by her gardener on 12th October 2009. Her ex-husband Cobus, a geologist, who was initially accused for her murder, discovered her body when he saw her foot sticking out of a flowerbed.
Lucas Moloi, beat her to death with a spade. He claimed that he actually liked Cordelia, but had killed her as Prinsloo had promised him a house and R50 000 cash. He was subsequently sentenced to 18 years imprisonment.
"Cordelia Prinsloo warned her family time and again: “My husband is going to kill me.” Later she added if he didn’t personally kill her he would have her “taken out” by someone else. “She was sure of it. She said it with great conviction, as though the only things she didn’t know were the time, place and situation,” says Cordelia’s sister, Angie le Roux (41)."

- 01/02/2013: Geologist Cobus Prinsloo (Jacobus Michael) (66) has been convicted of her murder and is out on R30 000 bail. He’s due to be sentenced in May and will indicate then whether he plans to appeal.
