About Cordelia Ward

Cordelia had been living in Eagle Pass since 1936. She was the owner of the Winter Garden Bus Lines. She married Sam Ward in 1897. They lived in Ozona, where they were in the sheep raising business and then moved to Dimmit County where they had the first and only artesian well for many years. In 1927 they started the Winter Garden Bus Lines between Carrizo Springs and Artesia Wells. In 1934 it was extended to Laredo and in 1936 the line was extended from Eage Pass to Laredo.
