PIONEER RESIDENT OF CALHOUN DEAD
Mrs. Ephriam Pierce, a resident of Lake City of vicinity since 1871, passed away suddenly at that place on February 27, her death being due to heart failure. Her funeral took place Wednesday from the Methodist church.
Mrs. Pierc'es birthplace was Montreal, Canada, the date being February 17, 1846. Her marriage to Mr. Pierce occurred on October 6, 1866 at DeKalb, IL in 1874. They settled on a farm four miles east of Lake City where they lived until twenty years ago.
They were the parents of eleven children, eight of who survive their mother. They are: Mrs. Julia Darr and WM, G. Pierce of Sioux Rapids, Richard Pierce, Mrs. Ellen Clark, Henry, Frank, Ward and Charles of Lake City. Mr. Pierce died January 23, 1922.[Marshall.ftw]
