When Corrie was in his late 70's, him and I used to run the 100m. I only just beat him!

He was an amazing grandfather.

He loved animals - used to climb the tree in the middle of the night to rescue roosting bantems during highveld thunderstorms

He made me breakfast everyday of my school life

He revamped my existing bicycle into a 'chopper'

He drove a Carmen Ghia

He was a friendly dude, it would take us 5 hours to buy bread and milk and stop by the post office - the rest was chitchat
