About Cornelius Leenhouts

Member of the architectural firm of Leenhouts and Guthrie. Designed the now demolished YMCA, the Grand Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, the House of Correction in Franklin, the Kenwood Masonic Temple, and several apartment buildings.

Married to wife, Jennie, and father of Marion, Sara, and Willis.

According to his codicil he wrote:

"I hereby direct that my body be cremated as being a more sanitary, scientific and reasonable disposition of all that remains of the human body after the departure of the soul - - 'dust to dust and ashes to ashes,' and I prefer mine ashes. No flowers or gabfest at my bier. A plain Masonic sendoff."* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Jul 23 2021, 20:17:37 UTC
