About Cornelius Reynolds

Cornelius Reynolds was born in England, usually seen as a son of Thomas Reynolds, of Isle of Wight and Mary (?), but there is doubt (see discussion https://www.geni.com/discussions/261847?msg=1617108).

About 1637, his family immigrated to American, and settled on the Rapidan River, the largest tributary of the Rappahannock River. The two rivers converge just west of the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Cornelius Reynolds married before 1650, an un-named wife, who was the mother of three of his children, born in Isle of Wight county, Virginia. [5]

  • John, (d aft 1706), married Sarah Grymes
  • William Reynolds, (d abt 1701), married Elizabeth Merriman
  • Susannah Reynolds (d abt 1709) married 2) John Goss 2) Thomas Meador

About 1673 Cornelius Reynolds married secondly to Margery Herald. She was Thomas Williams’ widow.
