About Count Adolphe Stackelberg
"Reinhold Adolphe Louis Stackelberg, born 1822, died 1871 was a Swedish Count , landowner and industrialist and one of the Småland revival movement enthusiasts.
"Adolphe Stackelberg was born in a grevligt home, however, lacked consider more wealth. Despite this, Adolphe Stackelberg get permission to marry the very wealthy baron JK Adelswärd's daughter Honorine. This was August 30, 1847. Baron Adelswärd gave the couple Stensnäs mansion with associated farms. Adolphe Stackelberg was a very religious man, and began early to think about how he could ensure their workers soul merchandise in the best way. He began to hold prayer times increasingly circuits and invited home spiritual speakers of different kinds. This gave Stackelberg nicknamed "reader Count".
"In 1852, Count Stackelberg met for the first time revivalist preacher Carl Olof Rosenius which marked the start of a lifelong friendship. In 1854 they established a joint Assembly in Vastervik . In the autumn of 1855 also began the evangelical revival in Kalmar to organize themselves in mission compounds. This was the beginning of Östra Småland missionary association .
"1860 inherited Stackelberg also Överums bruk of their in-laws. There, he had to start with building a "mobile church" that could be moved around on the gratings. In the years 1865-1867 preached a certain Nicolaus Bergensköld which would later emigrate to the United States and which became a leading figure in the Swedish countryside missionary movement . Later Stackelberg also built a permanent church to use the square. This, however, was not completed until after his death and was consecrated August 18, 1872."
