Heinrich was killed in the Battle of Mellrichstadt which was fought between Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV and the German anti-king Rudolf of Swabia on August 7, 1078 near Mellrichstadt.

Er habe an der Seite Heinrichs IV. (reg. 1056-1106, Kaiser ab 1084) gekämpft und bei Mellrichstadt (Lkr. Röhn-Grabfeld) am 7. August 1078 den Tod gefunden.

(He was on the side of the Holy Emperor Henry IV. (r. 1056-1106, from 1084). He fought and found death in Mellrichstadt (Distr. Röhn Grabfeld) on August 7, 1078.)
