Alonzo Shurburn Mulliken was named for his father's brother, Shurburn Mulliken.

Lon and Mary Mulliken were married for sixty-four years at the time of his death in 1930.

Lon and Mary resided in Jefferson Twp., Hillsdale Co., MI for many years. Lon was a Sunday School Superintendent in Somerset Center, MI and was a spirtual influence to a lot of people.

Around 1880 Lon and Mary moved to Hesperia, MI, where they lived for 35 years. They lived in Big Prairie, MI for two years. From there they moved to 39 West Elm St. in Fremont, MI, where they resided for 12 years.

Lon was a farmer. He was described as being 5'10" tall with brown hair, blue eyes and a light complexion.

Alonzo Mulliken, age 18, enlisted in Company G, 2nd MI Cavalry, 23 Sep 1861 in Hillsdale, MI for three years. He was promoted to Corporal in Feb 1863. He mustered out as Sergeant in Macon, GA, 17 Aug 1865.

Lon joined the Masons in Osseo, MI during the Civil War (1864), and at the time of his death was one of the oldest members of the Masonic Lodge in Michigan.
