EMMET--Cynthia Slosson, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 30th at Novato Community Hospital, Novato, CA. She was 84 years old. Cynthia was born on August 1, 1927 in Mt. Kisco, NY to Zilpha Spring and Theodore Carpenter Slosson. She graduated from The Northfield School for Girls and from Wheaton College in Norton, MA. She spent her junior year at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She married Barton Hepburn Emmet in 1951. After moving to numerous cities in the country while Barton was associated with theater production, they retired to Santa Barbara, CA where Cynthia was co-owner of Studio Fitness, and was on the Board of Directors of Laguna Cottages for Seniors for many years. They moved to Alma Via San Rafael in 2005, where she served in many areas of activity. Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Barton. She leaves her daughters Cindy Smith, Lydia Winkeller, Suesan Pawlitski, her grandchildren Briana and Tommy Alexander, Emrys, Gareth and Caitlyn Smith, Ricky, Peter, Emily and Betsy Winkeller, and her sister Zilpha Erskine. Contributions may be made in Cynthia's name to Laguna Cottages in Santa Barbara, CA.
