Mr C Scott Larew, son of C Scott Larew and Julia Sarah Larew, who passed away at Iowa City, was born Sunday, May 13, 1855, near Lewisburg, Greebrier County, West Virginia. He died at his home in Iowa City, at 614 South Clinton street, June 18, 1921, aged 66 years, one month and five days.

Mr Larew was the seventh child in a family consisting of eleven children. Five were boys and six girls. Three survive - Mrs R E Hanna, Mrs G R Alexander, of Esty, West Va, and Dr James A Larew, of Pulaski, Tenn.
Surviving are his widow and seven children. One son, Francis, preceded him more than two years ago, having won a gold star overseas, and being laid to rest with military honors in Iowa City not long ago. He was a brave member of the 349th Ammunition Company, Medical Corps, in France.

The surviving children are Ernest E, Julia S (Mrs Vernon Bothell) Robert C, White, Telford, Jackson and Isaac Larew, all in, or near, Iowa City.

Funeral services were conducted at the decedent's late home, Rev Robert R Reed, officiating, on June 20th, and interment was made in Oakland cemetery.

Mr Larew was an invalid during the last year and a half, throughout that period he was a patient sufferer, and a faithful witness to the Christian faith, which he embraced as a young man, more than 40 years ago.
