Daingerfield Lewis, of "Marmion", King George Co., Va.; son of George Washington Lewis (1757-1821) and Catherine Daingerfield (1764-1820); born July 14, 1785; died Sept. 18, 1862; married Sep. 10, 1807 in Spotsylvania Co., Va., Lucy, born 1787, daughter of Thomas Pratt and Jane Brockenbrough. They resided at Marmion throughout their lives, and had twelve children. Lucy Brockenbrough Lewis, died 16th August 1856 — aged 69 years.

Issue:

• 1. Fielding Lewis, born Oct. 15, 1808, m. (1) his first cousin, Catherine Daingerfield Lewis (1820-1849), daughter of Samuel Lewis and Sarah Attaway Miller, with whom he had two children. Fielding Lewis married (2) Mary Imogen Green, daughter of John and Ann (Forrest) Green of Georgetown, District of Columbia and had seven children.
• 2. Jane Brockenbrough Lewis, b. Sep. 20, 1810, m. her cousin, George Washington Lewis of "Claymont" Westmoreland county, son of Samuel Lewis and Sarah Attaway Miller.
• 3. Catherine Daingerfield Lewis, b. Jan. 16, 1812, m. Col. Thomas B. Barbour of "Spy Hill", King George county, Va.
• 4. Betty Washington Lewis, b. Jan. 16, 1814, m. William Alexander D. G. Ashton of King George County.
• 5. Susan Lewis, b. July 16, 1816, Sep. 20, 1818.
• 6. Lucy Pratt Lewis, b. July 19, 1818, d. 1876; m. Dr. Michael Wallace, born in Va., Nov. 14, 1817; died Oct. 14, 1877, son of Gustavus Brown and Frances (Lurty) Wallace. They resided at "White Hall", King George, Va.
• 7. Susan Lewis, b. 1820, d. Sep. 8, 1821.
• 8. Maj. George Washington Lewis, C.S.A., b. Feb. 17, 1823, d. Aug. 2, 1862 (KIA), never married.
• 9. Mary Willis Lewis, b. Feb. 21, 1824, d. 1885; m. 1855 Col. John Tayloe (b. Oct. 18, 1818) of Chatterton, Va., son of Lieut. John Tayloe, U.S.N. She was his second wife, and had four children.
• 10. Samuel Lewis, b. Mar. 21, 1825, died in infancy.
• 11. Henry Byrd Lewis, b. July 17, 1826, d. 1917; m. (1) 1849 Ellen Coleman Dickinson (1830-1892), by whom he had four children; m. (2) Lena R. Fairfax, no issue.
• 12. Attaway Miller Lewis, b. "Marmion", King George, Va., Mar. 3, 1829, died unmarried in 1915.
