Dale Laverne Bentley

Dale L. Bentley, age 81, of New Port Richey, FL former many year resident of Hampshire passed away surrounded by his family and under the care of hospice on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Gulfside Center for Hospice Care at Heather Hill in New Port Richey, FL. Dale was born on March 5, 1938 in Dixon, Illinois and was the son of the late Chester R. & Emma (nee Bohne) Bentley. Prior to retirement, Dale was a loyal and valued 38 year employee of Ameritech. He played in a band called "The Premiers", which played locally for over 20 years. Dale and Helen were Florida Snowbirds for the last 19 years, and were permanently living in Florida the last 2 years, all at the Orchid Lake RV Park. While down in Florida he was very active in the park's council, serving several terms as Council President. He also created several music groups that regularly performed concerts in the park. Survivors include his beloved wife and best friend of 61 years; Helen M. (nee Baumann) Bentley. Their children; David M. (Candy) Bentley, Laurie L. (Randy Gee) Pena and William R. (Julie) Bentley. His 16 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother; Ronald (Karen) Bentley along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother; Robert R. Bentley and sister; Phyllis M. Bartelt. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. At Dale’s request he will then be cremated and inurnment will be private. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
