Dallie Meadows

Dallie Harvey Meadows, 102, of Woodlawn Avenue, Beckley, died at 6:03 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2000. Born March 18, 1898, in Egeria, she was the daughter of the late Clowney Lee Harvey (1875-1957) and Leona Alvatine Walker-Harvey (1877-1946).

Mrs. Meadows was a homemaker and a former teacher in Raleigh County in the earlier years of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Beckley, and Ann Rose Fidelis Sunday school class. She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. Her family spans three centuries in the area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Carl Meadows (1892-Deceased); a son, E. Carl Meadows Jr. (Deceased); two daughters, Sibyl Meadows-Akers (Deceased) and Pauline Meadows-Bouldin (Deceased); a grandson, David Farley Bouldin II (Deceased); three brothers; and six sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Lucille Meadows-Robinson of Atlanta and Elizabeth Ann Meadows-Wood and her husband, Dennis Wood, of Cary, N.C.; two sisters, Bertha Harvey-Conner of Tallahassee, Fla., and Gemma Harvey-King of Dublin, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Dr. David Carrico officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call one hour before services Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
