2 July 1617: Copy Bond for 20,000 merks by Sir Patrick Murray of Langschaw [Langshaws], kt, in favour of Christian Murray, only child of the marriage between the said Sir Patrick Murray and the deceased Margaret Hamilton, his first wife, proceeding on a narrative of Contract of Marriage made between Sir Gideon Murray of Elibank, kt, his father and himself on the one part and Sir Alexander Hamilton of Inderwick [Innerwick] and the said Margaret Hamilton his lawful daughter on the other part, whereby it is provided that, failing heirs male, the said Patrick and his heirs male should pay to the heir female procreate between him and the said Margaret (being only one) the sum of £10,000 Scots "and seeing at the pleasure of God there is no heirs male in life procreat betwixt me and the said Margaret Hamilton and only one heir female named Chrystane Murray" and after narrating the terms of the Contract of Marriage made between the said Sir Gideon Murray, his father and himself on the one part and Sir James Dundas of Arniston, kt, and Elizabeth Dundas, his daughter, on the other part (dated 24th January 1617), in so far as they refer to the said Christian Murray he bound himself to pay to the said Christiane Murray on her attaining 16 years of age 20,000 merks Scots. 19 May 1627: Extract Registered Protestation by Sir Patrick Murray of Elibank, kt, upgiver of the Testatment of umquhile Dame Elizabeth Dundas, his spouse, whereby he accepts the burden upon him for Elizabeth, Agnes, Jeannie, Isobell, Patrick and William Murrays, bairns procreated betwixt the said umquhile Dame Elizabeth and him, Executors Dative confirmed to her, under protestation that albeit he had given up the inventory of her said testament of the goods, debts etc, nevertheless he protested that any goods or debts omitted should be admitted by an Eik. 14 November 1632: Extract Registered Discharge by the said George Douglas and Christian Murray, his spouse, in favour of Sir Patrick Murray of Elibank for the sum of £10,000 Scots. Recorded in the Books of Session, 11th December 1632. This Deed refers to Contract of Marriage between Sir Gideon Murray of Elibank, kt, and Patrick, his son, on the one part and Sir James Dundas of Arniston and Elizabeth Dundas, his daughter, on the other part, dated 24th January 1617, whereby Sir James agreed to pay a tocher of 12,000 merks with his daughter. 24 June 1637: Contract of Marriage between Sir John Stirling of Garden, kt, and Archibald Stirling, his eldest lawful son and Sir Patrick Murray of Elibank, kt, bart, and Elizabeth Murray, his eldest daughter, procreate between him and umquhile Dame Elizabeth Dundas, his second spouse. The Tocher is £10,000 Scots. Written by George Johnston, writer, for Francis Hay of Balhoussie [Balhousie] WS, before these witnesses: Sir George Stirling of Keir, kt, William Drummond of Riccarton, Sir John Murray, [This seems to be Sir John Murray designed of Ravelrig in the preceding writs. 28 March 1644: Contract of Marriage between Patrick, Lord Elibank and Mistress Isobel Murray, his fourth lawful daughter procreate between him and umquhile Dame Elizabeth Dundas, his spouse, with express advice and consent of the said Patrick, Lord Elibank as father, lawful administrator, tutor, guider and governor to her of the law, for his interest on the one part, and Sir James Murray of Kilbaberton with express advice and consent of Dame Catherine Weir, Lady Kilbaberton, his mother, now spouse to the said Patrick, Lord Elibank, on the other part; the tocher is 12,000 merks Scots.
