Daneel (known as Anel) (22), was raped and murdered in an apartment at Farm Buhrmannstafelkop, in Ermelo, on 30th June 2002.

Anel's fiance, Mr. Johan du Toit, found her body around 10h00. She has had several injuries to her head and body, said police spokesperson, Insp. Busaphi Sibanyoni. According to him, Du Toit and Snyman had been out the night before after which he dropped her off at home at 02h30.

"Her killer(s) gained access to the apartment by breaking a window pane in the living room window," said Capt. Mania van Zyl from the police's unit against serious violent crime. According to Van Zyl, they are still waiting for the results of the autopsy and forensic tests.
