About Daniel Bixler
Daniel was born to Peter Bixler (1785-1861) and Sarah (Osman) Bixler (1788-1863) who owned a farm in Mahantongo Township (now Hegins), Pa. and had John, Daniel, Lydia, Sarah, Peter, Joseph, David and Henry.
Daniel married Christina Bressler (1820-1856) before 1840. Their children were: Harriet (1840-), Elizabeth (1841/2-1926), Sarah (1844- ), Amos (1845-1929), Nathan (Nathaniel 1848-1915), Christiana (1849/50- ) and Joseph C. (1855-1930). She died a year following the birth of Joseph, in 1856. Daniel married Susan who was 26 in the 1860 census.
His farm was next to his parents in the 1850 census. In the 1860 census he was Justice of the Peace in Donaldson, Pa., and was the administrator of his father's estate in 1861. He was retired in the 1870 census and was not in the 1880 census.
