Peter Bixler was born to Christian and Catherine/Eve Bixler in Mahantongo Township (now Hegins). He first married Barbara Fetterhoff, then Sarah Osman and they had John (1811-), Daniel (c1815- ), Lydia, Sarah, Peter, Joseph, David and Henry.   "Peter was a large landholder and carried on several branches of business, farming, distilling and wagon making."
