He is buried in the West Cemetery, Granville Center, and his tombstone reads, "In Memory of Mr. Daniel Cooley who died December 21, 1782, in the 71st year of his age."
The West Parish of Granville was settled in 1750. Daniel Cooley resided in Enfield, Simsbury, Conn., Westfield, Springfield and Granville, Mass.; his children were born in these various places. He m. (int. Sept. 23) Oct. 16, 1735, Springfield, Frances McIntyre (or McIntire), b. about 1717, Co. Cavan, Ireland; d. Nov. 3, 1807, Granville, ae. 90, bur. with her husband. The Cooley tombstone is 18 in. x 30 in., and the footstone is marked "Mr. Daniel Cooley."

Probated 5 Feb. 1783 Bequests: 1. Wife Francis (sic), over and above her thirds, a cow such as she shall choose, all the household furniture, etc. 2. Son William, 10s. 3. Son John, 10s. 4. Son Clark, 10s. 5, 6. Sons Noah and Daniel, 10s. each, wearing apparel, and a horse if I shall have one, to be equally divided between them two. 7. Son Thomas, he paying all my legacies to my other sons and daughters, all my real estate; also my moveable estate except what I have before disposed of, he paying all my debts also. 8. Margaret, Hambleton, daughter, the wife of Robert Hambleton, 10s. 9. Daughter Esther Strickland, wife of Jonathan, 10s.
