About Daniel Durouzeaux III

Daniel DUROUSAUX settled in GA about 1742. He received a grant of 500 acres near Augusta in 1745. Early records (Colonial Records of The State of Ga, Volumn 36, pages 495-497 & pages 512-514) show him as a resident in 1750. I may have been his son James who settled nearby and also received land in 1752. In a second petition for land grant in 1764, Daniel stated he had been in the Providence since 1742 and had a wife and six children. He received 500 acres about 10 miles North of Augusta on a branch of the Savannah River, on 7 May 1765. Daniel died in 1775 and his will named five of his children.
