Military Service

According to the records of the United States War Department at Washington D.C., Daniel Stivers enlisted in July 1779, at the age of 16, at the town of Oxford, Sussex County, New Jersey. And served with the troops from New Jersey in an infantry or scout company, commanded by Capt. George Bibble. He applied for a pension from Sempronious, Cayuga County, New York, September 24,1832, at the age of 69.

Daniel enlisted in the Revolutionary War in July 1779 at the age of 16 in the township of Oxford, Sussex County, NJ. Both Daniel and Margaret are buried at the Flatwoods Cemetery, Chester Township, Meigs County, OH.
