About Daniel Stockton

Daniel Stockton, a son of Thomas and Rachel (nee Allen) Stockton Sr., was only married once, and that was to Catherine Ferrell. Court records prove Daniel and Catherine were both still alive and living in Virginia in 1815.

He is not the Daniel Stockton who married Susannah Sherrer and died in the year 1800 in Barren County, Kentucky. That was Daniel 4 (Newberry 3, Thomas 2, Davis 1) Stockton.

Daniel "Dan" Stockton c.1750 - c.1815

Daniel "Dan" Stockton was a son of Thomas and Rachel (nee Allen) Stockton, Sr., and a grandson of Davis Stockton of Albemarle County, Virginia. "Dan" was born about 1750 and married Catherine Ferrell.

There are Quaker documents that show that Daniel and his wife Catherine (nee Ferrell) Stockton belonged to the Quaker Church. It appears that Daniel's father, Thomas Stockton, Sr., was a member of the Quaker Church by 1749.

Daniel Stockton and Catherine Ferrell appear to have married in Dec of 1771 and died after 1815 in Bedford County, Virginia.

"Dan" and Catherine's children appear to be: William Stockton, b. about 1772-1774 Rachel Stockton, Newberry Stockton, b. 1 Jan 1778 Margaret Stockton, m. Joseph Falls Martha "Patty" Stockton, m. John Bowen
