cantorjoeocho   (View posts) Posted:	14 Aug 2007 5:57AM Classification: Obituary Surnames: Dochen,Hart David Robert Dochen passed away August 13, 2007 in Austin,TX after a four year battle with congestive heart failure. He was born in Austin, Texas August 28, 1922 - the third child of Sam and Celia Dochen. During WWII, David served as a meteorologist in the Pacific, flying on B-29 bomber crews. He attained the rank of Major in the US Air Force Retired Reserve. Upon completing military service, he returned to The University of Texas where he received a Mechanical Engineering degree. He then worked as a petroleum engineer and in the air condition field. From 1964 until his retirement in 1992, David worked as an aerospace engineer with the Apollo and Shuttle programs at the NASA facility in the Clear Lake area. He was a Registered Professional Engineer and a licensed Real Estate Broker. David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon Hart Dochen, son Jeffrey Dochen, grandchildren Kerrie and Daniel Dochen, daughter Samia Joseph and husband John, son Dennis Hart and wife Jennifer, granddaughters Alex and Jessie Hart and daughter Robin Atwood and husband Bill, granddaughters Tristan and Samara Atwood. He will be greatly missed by his family, and special friends at the Dell Children's Medical Center, where he spent many years as a volunteer. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to either the Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas 4900 Mueller Blvd., Austin TX 78723-9904 or Hospice Austin. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 14 at Oakwood Cemetery at 16th Street & Comal.
