Genealogy, Copiah County, Mississippi Taxpayers 1825 - 1841, every year from 1825 through 1832 and is found on the 1830 census there. Sometime between 1832 and 1836 he removed to Chickasaw Co., MS.

David H. GRACE enlisted Aug. 15, 1861 at Hazlehurst, Copiah Co., MS for a period of 1 year. He was captured on or about June 19, 1864 at Marietta, GA. June 24, 1864 he is on a roll of prisoners of war in Nashville, TN. June 25, 1864 in Louisville, KY. June 30, 1864 he was transferred to Camp Morton, Indianapolis, IN. He died at Camp Morton on July 8, 1864 from Inflamation of the Bowels and is buried in the Confederate Section, Green Lawn Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. It is believed he is the same David GRACE, occupation miller, b. ca 1793 NC, m. Aug 24, 1816 Caldwell Co., KY to Jane FOWLER, lived Caldwell Co., KY; Stewart Co., TN; Trigg Co., KY; Copiah Co., Chickasaw Co., & Calhoun Co., MS.
