About David Graham, 3rd Viscount of Dundee
DAVID GRAHAM Viscount of Dundee and Lord Graham of Claverhouse
Fake Genealogy
According to at least one pedigree published by FamilySearch, David Graham, here treated, who was the Viscount of Dundee, and Lord Graham of Claverhouse, married a lady named Marion Bell, with whom he had five children. The baptism of one child, a daughter named Anna was registered at Montrose in Angus on 21 November 1670, and the baptisms of the other four at Hawick in Roxburghshire, William and Bessie, twins, on 1 October 1671, Robert on 7 March 1675, and Archbald on 6 March 1678. FamilySearch: David Graham 9th Laird of Claverhouse and 3rd Viscount The marriage to Marion Bell is followed by at least one pedigree published by Ancestry. Ancestry: Marion Bell
The marriage proposed by FamilySearch and Ancestry, between David Graham, here treated, and Marion Bell, is not supported by the biographical summary printed in volume three of The Scots Peerage, which does not identify a wife and children for him, suggesting instead that he died unmarried and without a legitimate heir.
Moreover, one child awarded to him by FamilySearch, a daughter named Anna Grahame, whose baptism was registered at Montrose in Angus on 21 November 1670 is in fact the daughter of David Grahame, one of the bailies or magistrates of the Burgh of Montrose. The name of her mother is not recorded.
