She was born 28 Feb. 1774 in Goochland County, Virginia and died Aft. 1850 in Marion County, Missouri with burial in Marion County, Missouri. Her father was Thomas Martin and mother was Susannah Walker. They had eleven children: Thomas, Benjamin, Dabney, Nancy, Jesse, Harriet, Sarah, Pamelia, Millicent, Mourning and Susanna.

David Jesse Bowles was the Son of Jesse Bowles and Hanna Perkins. David married Elizabeth "Betsey" Clowers, daughter of Jacob Clowers and Rebecca Harris on 20 May 1803 in Franklin County, Virginia.
