was enrolled as a burgess and guild brother of the burgh of Glasgow on 15 February 1655, in right of his being the eldest son of James Lochhead, merchant, burgess and guild brother of Glasgow [James R. Anderson, The Burgesses and Guild Brethren of Glasgow, 1573-1750 (Scottish Record Society, Edinburgh, 1925), page 143] https://archive.org/stream/scottishrecordso43scotuoft#page/143/mode...
David Lochhead, merchant in Glasgow, was at least twenty-one years of age when he was enrlolled as a burgess of Glasgow, and it follows, therefore, that he must have been born on or before 15 February 1634 [James R. Anderson, The Burgesses and Guild Brethren of Glasgow, 1573-1750 (Scottish Record Society, Edinburgh, 1925), page 143]. The probability of this suggests that he may be that son of James Lochhead, and his wife, Jonet Lochhead, whose baptism was registered at High Church parish in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, on 5 November 1626 [Scotland, Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950, index, FamilySearch] https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VQHK-Q7V
