David M "Mickey" Nichols

David M. "Mickey" Nichols, 66, of Burke's Garden, Va., died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, W.Va.

Born Dec. 19, 1949 in Clay, W.Va., he was a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Nichols and Predetia Davis Nichols. 

David was a CPA and served many folks over the years in Tazewell, Va., and the surrounding area. He was a talented builder and built several office buildings in Tazewell. He was owner of Westgate Shopping Center in Bluefield, Va., and was responsible for remodeling the shopping center.

David loved farming and was owner of Burke's Garden Angus. He had hoped and planned to retire and farm fulltime. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Philip Larry Nichols, Woodrow D. Nichols and Delanor Nichols; sister-in-law, Norma; and three nephews, Richard, Jeffrey and Freddy Nichols, Jr.He is survived by his sister, Linda S. Hunt and husband, Gene, of Charleston, W.Va.; three brothers, Charles Gaynell Nichols and wife, Barbara, of Grove City, Ohio, Freddie J. Nichols and wife, Judy, of Ida, La., and Robert J. Nichols and wife, Janie, of Pinch, W.Va.; sister-in-law, Mary Nichols of St. Albans, W.Va.; 11 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and -nephews; four great-great-nieces -and nephews; and many other family members and special friends.
Memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel, Tazewell, Va., with the Rev. Rodney Lawson officiating.
