They landed between 1630 and 1660. They lived in Norfolk Co., Virginia. They were endentured servants. After a period of ten years, they were set free. Some of the family went to South Carolina and some to North Carolina and some to Tennessee. Some of the North Carolina families were in Caswell Co. Some lived in Charlotte, North Carolina in a little town called Morrow's Turnout. There are a lot of Morrows buried in Charlotte. Reverand Billy Graham's mother is related to these Morrows. Some of the Morrows moved to Georgia to a town now called Morrow
Daniel Morrow settled in Norfolk, Virginia, was one of the headrights of Cheyney Boyce, who brought over a number of families for settlement in the early 1640's from Ireland. The Morrow families did not arrive together, but their "coming was contemporaneous." Daniel Morrow came to Norfolk, VA from Ireland with his son David Morrow. His wife was possibly Mary Church. David Morrow is shown as an original landowner in VA from 1650 - 1693. Settled Norfolk, VA 1640s.
About Lower Norfolk Co: In 1636, less than three decades after the settling of Jamestown, New Norfolk was formed from Elizabeth City shires of the Colony of Virginia. In 1637, New Norfolk County was divided into Lower Norfolk Country and Upper Norfolk Country. Lower Norfolk County encompasses the area that is now the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach. Lower Norfolk Country's first court was held on May 15, 1637, and was presided over by Captain Adam Thoroughgood.
Chesapeake is the most direct descendent of Lower Norfolk County. The records housed in care of the Chesapeake's Clerk of the Circuit Court are the oldest records held by any of the four cities that were once Lower Norfolk County; they date back to 1637 and the first court held in the jurisdiction.
His will, written Nov. 5, 1692, and proved May 16, 1693, names wife Ann, and the children and grandchildren here listed. According to Our Tennesee Cousins, by Worth S. RAY, [quoted in The Morrows & Related Families 1640-1978, by J. T. MORROW (Baltimore, 1979), page 13], David was the son of Daniel MORROW, who setted near Norfolk, VA in the 1640s.
