David Smith Parrish, Sr

Mr. David (Dave) Smith Parrish, Sr., age 73, of Varina, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 1991, at his home after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Mazie McRay Parrish; four daughters and their husbands, Jeanne Parrish and George V. Tate, Sr., St. Stephens Church, VA, Suzanne McRay Parrish, Richmond, Kathy Parrish and James B. Blake III, Varina, and Mazie Jane Parrish and Fred H. Stanley, Richmond; one son and his wife, David S. Parrish, Jr. and Katherine C. Parrish, Varina; seven grandchildren, Robert E. Short, Jr., Temple S. Whitley, Allyson M. Blake, Matthew P. Stanley, Katherine E. Blake, Charlotte H. Parrish, and Lane M. Stanley, all of Richmond; three sisters, Merle P. Merden, Portsmouth, VA, Pearle P. Williford, Richmond and Lois P. Winston , Columbus, VA; two brothers Fred N. Parrish and Raymond A. Parrish, both of Richmond; and a faithful friend and servant, Mary A. Quarles. Remains rest at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Ave., where services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday. Internment Washington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 6;00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
