David Steele (1708~1747) was [NOT] the s/o of Sir Richard Steele, MP and his second wife,Lady Mary "Prue" Scurlock. This couple only has asu surviving daughter

5) Robert, b. abt 1730
6) Lydia, b. 08 Jan 1734 (missed in records in the Steele book)
7) Rebecca, b. 1734 (sic-1736)
8) Jannet, b. abt 1738
9) Thomas, b. 1747

David Steele, born abt 1700, died in Augusta Co., Va. 1747. Wife Jannet; children Isabella b ca 1720; Nathaniel b ca 1722;Samuel b ca 1724, Martha b ca 1728; Robert b ca 1730; Rebecca b ca 1738, Janneta b ca 1738; and Thomas b 1747.This taken from book THE STEELES OF STEELES TAVERN, VIRGINIA AND RELATED FAMILIES, BY MILDRED S. Augusta Co VA; farmer; to son Robert my plantation; to wife my mare and life estate in plantation; to son Nathaniel mare 1/2 iron tools except plough and plough tackle; to dau Martha TEAS and dau Isabella MCCLURE 5 shillings each; to dau Rebecca a cow and mare; to son Robert a cow and mare; to dau Jannet a cow and mare; Sam DOAK and Robert RAMSEY appointed executors. 1747 by David STEELE. per Mildred Goeller's book The Steeles of Steeles Tavern, VA. p. 44.
