David Joseph Stovall, Sr.

David's father, Josiah Stovall, moved from Henrico County, VA to Granville County, NC when Josiah was a child. Josiah and his wife Mary Hicks moved to Lincoln County (formerly Wilkes County), GA in 1785, when David was a child. Abt 1797 David married Mary Wright. David farmed till his death in 1808 in Lincoln County, GA where he is buried. The grave is believed to be under a lake created by TVA (along with his father Josiah). Sometime later Mary married a Barnett (first name unknown). Apparently, she remarried after moving to Giles County, TN because Mary Stovall (same birthdate)is listed in the 1820 Census as head of household. (A Mr. Barnett is NOT listed as buried in the Bee Springs Cemetery with Mary. Mary was shown in the 1850 census as Mary Barnett living with her son E. G. Stovall in Giles County, TN. Her son Elijah Griffin and his wife Malinda and other family members are also buried at Bee Springs.

Mitchell b. 18Oct1811 (Mecklenburg Co., VA) d. 05Nov1888. Daughter of Thomas M. Mitchell b. ABT 1787 (Mecklenburg Co., VA; d. AFT 1830) and Frances "Fanny" Pulley.

Body lost or destroyed.
