About David Hubbard ZUMWALT
GEDCOM Note
David was a direct descendant of the Zumwalts who built Fort Zumwalt in St. Charles County, Missouri. It still stands. It is the site of Stoney Point Cemetery as well. Jacob (1752-1820) and Queti (Catherine) Miller Zumwalt are buried there.
When the City of O'Fallon purchased Fort Zumwalt State Park for $1 in 1978, it acquired about 48 acres and the ruins of a frontier home fort. Of the 30+ War of 1812 fort sites in Missouri, Zumwalt's Fort is the only one owned by a municipal government. A limestone chimney marks the site.
