Dayang Rasyidah (Keturunan Chuchu Patin)

said to be from Keturunan Chuchu Patin (refer back to buku Dato Godam). Through lineage, we are not allowed to eat/consume Ikan Patin which is a type of catfish.

Through paternal side of the family, we are also descended from Dato Godam, through one of his sons, named Manteri Puteh or Dato Said. But according to our older families and ancestors, Manteri Putih was also known as Alip within closed family members. Alip was married to another wife; Dayang Rasyidah. Like Dato Godam, he had several names/aliases.

According to our family history and salasilah, Dayang Rasyidah was from Kampong Saba in Kampong Ayer and said to be the descendant from the fallen sultan (Pengiran Bendahara) in Pulau Chermin and also part of the Keturunan Chuchu Patin lineage. Based on the the book: Dato Godam, it is stated that Manteri Putih is said to be married to another wife Perempuan berketurunan Patin. Thus, this matched our lineage from our side at the very least. However, the author/researcher from the book of Dato Godam noted that it was not entirely sure as it is only focusing towards Manteri Putih's first wife; Anak Perempuan Orang Kaya DiGadong Seri Nara Indera Awang Abdul. Nevertheless, our family still keeps that salasilah.

Through Dato Godam's mother, NN Van Groenewegen was a Dutch woman whose father, Jan Van Groenewegen was originated from The Netherlands and sailed to work for VOC (Dutch East Indies company).The Dutch origins began from a city known as Delft in South Holland, The Netherlands.
