About Dea. Joshua Brown

Joshua Brown was born 10 April 1642 at Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, and died there on 20 March 1720. He was the son of Richard Brown, of Newbury and Edith, his 1st wife. He married Sarah Sawyer (1651-1732), daughter of William Sawyer and Ruth Bitfield. They had seven children.

Dea. Joshua Brown/ born in Newbury April 10, 1643. He was a yeoman, and lived in Newbury. He married Miss Sarah Sawyer of Newbury Jan. 15, 1668; and he died March 20, 1719-30, at the age of eighty seven. She survived him, and died, his widow, Aug. 2, 173a, in Newbury, at the age of eighty-one. His homestead was known as "Brown's garden." In A 703, he conveyed his house, barn and land in Newbury to his son-inlaw Thomas Wells.
