from The Descendants of Robert Corbett of Weymouth, Massachusetts, Compiled from Available Sources by Melvin C. Corbett, October 1957:
Daniel Corbett, only son of Elder Daniel and Sarah Corbett to reach maturity, was born July 8, 1720 in Bellingham, MA. He married Mary Holbrook, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Cook) of Bellingham, MA. Some of their children may have been born in Wrentham West Parish, now Franklin, and others in North Purchase where he lived later.
Deacon Daniel Corbett left Bellingham, MA to Milford, MA in 1745, about the same time as his father moved. He was a prosperous farmer and deacon of the Milford Church, being elected to that office in 1760. He inherited large tracts of land from his father, Elder Daniel when he died in 1753. He and his wife were among those who temporarily left the Congregational Church during the early part of Mr. Frost's pastorate and were for a time, adherents of Samuel Hovey. Mr. Hovey was their near neighbor and for a time "seriously troubled Israel". But when Mr. Hovey moved away, they returned to the fold thoroughly reconciled. Deacon Daniel died in Mendon Village in 1761. His widow, Mary married again in 1770 to Lieut. Joseph Chapin of Mendon. She died in Mendon on Nov. 7th, 1809.
