About Deacon John Stone
Deacon John Stone was born in Natick, Mass. in 1761. He lived with his parents in Dublin, NH. then appears after his marriage in Shoreham, VT. He located finally in Attica, Wyoming County, New York, where he died in 1831. He was a soldier in the Revolution in the New Hampshire forces. He was a farmer and was a deacon in the Baptist Church.
His bible, containing his complete family record passed to his youngest daughter Thirza Stone, who gave it to her niece, Mrs Emeline (Stone) Ralph. Mrs. Ralph and her cousin Mrs. Olive Stone Griswold have supplied much of the information of Dea John Stone and descendents.
Deacon John Stone married in Dublin, N.H. Hannah Stratton. There were 12 children.
