About Deacon Zachariah Shaw

DAR Ancestor #: A102230

REVOLUTIONARY WAR VETERAN?

Zachariah may have been in the Revolution, over sixty years old at the time.

"Zacharias is probably the Zacharias Sr. mentioned in the Revolutionary Rolls. Zacharias Sr. is named in connection with 'Alarms' on which he marched. The family of Zacharias and Sarah are recorded in Bridgewater. The break between Elizabeth, born 1744, and Judith born 1749 would serve to indicate that he served in King George's War which lasted from 1743 to 1748, and since he had had service, he very probably served in the French and Indian War, making a total of three wars in which he had some part." --Kenneth Linwood Shaw
