About Deborah Kendall

Who married Deborah Richardson?

It looked simple to begin with, but then I found multiple sources that conflict with each other. It seems to center on which one of them married Deborah Richardson, and which one of them died young and could not have married her. The marriage record is of little help: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FHVV-H9H , https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G979-HYDR?i=134&am... . Eventually, after much discussion we, as curators, decided to link Deborah to Lt. John Kendall, of Woburn . Sometimes, in genealogy, there is not a good answer. This answer is not written in stone. If you feel that you have solid evidence to support the other choice please contact the curator.

Then Dean Richard Hobart pointed me to https://sgossfamily.wordpress.com/2017/07/04/the-kendall-family-mar... . This is the most comprehensive discussion to be found at this time and is included as a source on this profile in case it should disappear.

    • X He was a tailor. In 1718 he sold his homestead of 120 acres in Woburn to Samuel Green, bounded on the east "by the highway to Charlestown from the West End of said Woburn, and northerly and northwest by the land and medow of Thomas Kendall, Jr." Ralph Kendall, with his wife, Abigail, then removed to Lancaster, where six of his children, including Benjamin, were born. Benjamin lived in Sherborn. He died testate in 1805, leaving a widow, Eunice; children, Benjamin, Timothy, Kezia Boden (wife of William), Lydia Holbrook (wife of Micah), Eunice Burbank (wife of Samuel), Elizibeth Houghton (wife of Benjamin); granddaughter, Asenath Pratt, and only brother, Elisha Kendall. But was Benjamin of Sherborn the son of Ralph? Apparently not.
