About Deborah Stetson

Deborah Brooks, daughter of William Brooks & his 1st wife, Born ca 1654 in Scituate, MA. Deborah was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 18 Mar 1654.

She bore an illegitimate son Beriah at Scituate 20 Mar 1673/74, and was presented to the Court in June "for comitting fornication" [Ply. Col. Rec. 5:148].2

She married, probably between 1676 and 1678 at Scituate, Robert/2 Stetson Jr., son of Cornet Robert/1 Stetson and Honour Tucker, and possibly father of Beriah. (Although the marriage record is not found, the Pembroke death record of Peleg Stetson records the boy as son of Robert and Deborah Stetson.).4
