Obituary

Delores Mae Skauge, 78, of Spring Grove, died Sunday, Oct 3, 2004, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.

She was born on Sept 14, 1926, in Spring Grove, to Melvin and Eva (Garness) Sagdalen. She was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident where she attended rural schools. On March 27, 1943, she married Lawrence Skauge, in Decorah. The couple farmed in rural Black Hammer Township until retiring and moving to Spring Grove. He died on April 14, 1994. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Black Hammer, rural Spring Grove, and its women's groups.

Survivors include two sons Roger (Audrey) Skauge of Spring Grove and Joel (Connie) Skauge of Rochester; a daughter, Rachel (Duane) Olerud of Spring Grove; one brother, Leland "Cap" (Zelda) Sagdalen of Mabel; five grandsons; one granddaughter; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services are today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church of Black Hammer in rural Spring Grove. Burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Liptack will officiate.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roble Funeral Services in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
