Delvina Helen "Della" Oja Obituary
Mrs. Delvina "Della" Helen Oja, 74 years, of Nipigon, Ontario passed away, with her family by her side on, Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, Nipigon. Della was a member and past president of the Catholic Women's League at the Church of the Annunciation and for many years was in charge of the funeral coffee services. She also ran her own catering service for a number of years. Della was a member of the Nipigon Lioness, a hockey fan (especially when her son played)and enjoyed playing Bingo. Predeceased by her parents – Albert and Martha John and by siblings – Floyd in infancy, Albert John, Gregory John and Diane Poulin; she is survived by her husband Donald Oja of Nipigon, her son Donald Jr. (& Jennifer) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, her grandchildren of whom she was very proud – Meghan and Matthew, by siblings – Eleanor (& Royden) James of Plantagent, Ontario, Betty (& Barry) Johnston of Navan, Ontario, Paul John of Thunder Bay, Ontario and Connie (& Lawrence) Moore of Wendover, Ontario. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. According to Della's wishes cremation has taken place. The memorial mass for Della Oja will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11 A.M. at the Church of the Annunciation, Nipigon with Father A. Augustynowicz officiating. Interment will be in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon.
