- "John Cole, father of William Cole and the grandfather of Aliese Cole Caples, was born about 1660 and died about 1746, when he made his Will. On the Miles Carey chart of the Cole Family, John Cole is given as born 1669, however, no documentary evidence is given of this, so the compiler believes it is earlier. John Cole married first, Joanna Garrett in 1688 who was the daughter of Dennis Garrett and Barbara Stone Garrett. Joanna, sometimes referred to as Johanna, died about 1720, and John Cole married second, Dinah Hawkins, daughter of Matthew Hawkins. The children of John Cole by both wives are listed on the Cole Family Chart of Wilson Miles Carey. Thy are given in the following order:.
