Brief overview:
Desmond, a sugar can farmer, was murdered on Band farm in the Bhoboyi area of Umzimkulu, KZN on 22nd January 2008.
He was reported missing a day earlier, and his body was found burnt beyond recognition in the boot of his vehicle.
The gruesome discovery has led to the KwaZulu-Natal Agricultural Union (Kwanalu) reiterating its call for the government to implement a strategy to fight the murder of farmers.
Chairwoman of the South African Cane Growers’ Association Jane Ferguson said it was with regret that the organisation had learnt of yet another brutal attack of a member of the farming community.
