About Diana Josephine Churchill
Diana starred in Oranges and Lemons, the first revue after WWII in the West End. So she was one of the first to have her name in lights after the blackout. She was in the Old Vic rep in the 1950s, including Loves Labours Lost. She also played a queen ant in a West End production with Alec Guinness, with whom she acted in various Christopher Fry plays at the Lyric, Hammersmith.
She is of distant relation to Winston Churchill and his daughter, Diana, who was also an actress. Her father descended from a younger brother of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, who "had an affair with an actress".
Churchill was an aunt of racing driver John Campbell-Jones and a sister-in-law of art director Ralph W. Brinton.
