Melander Wright was the son of Benjamin Wright and Dicey Campbell. Dicey named her son Melander is honor of her own brother James Mehlander Campbell. "No. Date of License: March 19, 1821 Name of Husband: Benjamin Wright Name of Wife: Dicey Campbell Securities: Jesse Wright To Whom Fee is Paid: S. Garland By Whom Married and When:"

Chancery case in Amherst Co. dated 20 Feb. 1833, Fortune & Estes vs. Benjamin Wright, Dicey Wright, Wiate Campbell, et al. I have the case of Fortune v. Wright transcribed and it is in Sorting Some Of The Wrights Of Southern Virginia, Part VII: 1767 Francis Wright of Amherst County available online for downloading at:

https://familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.a...

Benjamin and Dicey were trying to avoid creditors by transferring property into a trust for Dicey's benefit (Deed W/237 with Wiatt Campbell), but the court rejected the transaction and Dicey had to settle for her dower interest in the land.

Nelson Co. DB8, p. 300 dated 1833 between David Shultz and Benjamin Wright and Dicey. The name Shultz set off the bells because Henry Shultz in Augusta County is the man who had raised Fountain Campbell. So, this all means the Shultz family did have a history with Campbells and Wrights
