Funeral services for Dick Vander Linden, 62 were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. Henry B. Poppen officated.
Burial was held in the Valley View Cemetery. Mr. Vander Linden died suddenly March 23, at his home.
He was born November 23, 1903 in the Netherlands, and came to this country in 1913.
He married Minnie Van Ravenswaay September 10, 1932, at Ireton Iowa. He farmed in the Rock Valley area until his retirement to Rock Valley two months ago. Mrs. Vander Linden died February 26, 1966.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Vernon Sandbulte and Mr.s Peter Davelaar, both of Rock Valley, Mrs. Francis Baatz of Inwood, Iowa, and Mrs. Jake Vande Hoef of Sioux Center; four brothers, Bill of Sheldon, Iowa, Lane of Hull Iowa, and Simon and James both in the Nehterlands; two sisters, Mrs. John Landegent of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Bill Gorseman of Boyden, Iowa, and 18 grandchildren.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Jun 3 2020, 0:42:06 UTC
