Dinah came to Western Australia with her parents in the Hooghly, arriving on 12 February 1830. [1]
She married John Foss Tonkin on 26 December 1836 in Guildford.[2] They had eight children over the next 22 years.

TONKIN—On May 5th, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. John Tapper, junior, Fremantle, after a long and painful ill-ness, DINAH, wife of John Foss Tonkin, aged 67 years. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing family. Deceased arrived in the Colony, in the ship " Hoogly," 1830.[3]
