About Dinah Trevathan

http://sites.rootsweb.com/~vanorfol/wilson.htm

IV. Samuel Wilson, who married Dinah Mason Thorowgood, was a son of Colonel James Wilson of Norfolk. Dinah Mason was not married at date of father's will; but soon married (1) Capt. Robt. Thorogood of Princess Anne Co., who had died before Jan. 7, 1702-03 and Dinah was Executrix of his will. Dinah Mason Thorowgood married (2) SAMUEL Wilson who died before Jan. 12, 1710. on which date his estate was appraised and Dinah Wilson signed the Inventory. Their son WILLIS WILSON was born after death of his father Samuel Wilson. Before Feb. 1, 1713, Dinah Mason Thorowgood Wilson had married (3) William Trevathan of Princess Anne Co., who filed settlement of estates of Capt. Robt. Thorowgood, and of Samuel Wilson dec'd in favor of their respective orphans. (P.A. Co. Va., D. B. 2, p. 195).

Family

Thomas and Robert Thoroughgood; and Stephen Wright. (Thomas and Robert are correct. The error is Stephen Wright. Dinah's second husband was Samuel Wilson and they had Willis Wilson who was raised by his uncle, Solomon Wilson. Willis should have been listed as the third "step-child." Stephen Wright was actually the second husband of Mary Trevethan, the niece of William Trevethan, and daughter of William's brother Sampson and his first wife, Anne Church.)

Origins

Lemuel Mason’s will was dated June 17, 1695, and probated seven years later. He names his three sons, Thomas, Lemuel and George; daughters, Frances, wife of Mr. George Newton; Alice, wife of Samuel Boush, and widow of William Porter; Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Cocke; Margaret, wife of [paper torn], in England; Anne, wife of Mr. Cron [or something like this, but the paper here is also mutilated]; Mary, wife of Walter Gee, and Dinah.

Mrs. Mason's will is also recorded, of date 1704. It recites Frances Sayer, Alice Boush, Mary Cocke, Dinah Thoroughgood.
