Dirck LOW was born 26 Sep 1717. The date of Dirck's birth is based on a brief history (of unknown origin) of the marriage and children of Cornelis LOW (s/o Laurens JANSEN and Mary ROOSA) and Judith MIDDAGH. Dirck was christened 13 Oct 1719 in 1st Reformed Church, Raritan, NJ. Witnesses: Pieter and Cattalyna Middag. Dirck died 1802. Dirck died intestate.

Dirck and Rebecca 14 children. They resided in Hillsborough, Somerset County, NJ where he was the building master and trustee of the Neshanic Church for a number of years. In 1778 Dirck became a judge in Somerset County. In 1798 Dirck bought 640 acres of land in the 4th Township, 3rd Military Range in the Miami lands of Ohio. It doesn't appear that he ever went to Ohio to see his purchase but his heirs did and they established the LOW(E) family in Ohio forming the Lowe Bros Paint Co.

He married Rebecca EMMONS 1 Jun 1747 in Somerset, NJ.

Dirck Low(e) - also listed as Derrick Low(e) - was a son of Cornelius Low and Judith Middagh. Dirck Low was born 26 Sept. 1717. The date of Dirck's birth is based on a brief history of unknown origin of the marriage and children of Cornelius Low (s/o Laurens Jansen * and Mary Roosa) and Judith Middagh. Dirck was christened 13 Oct. 1719. Witnesses: Pieter and Cattalyna Middag. Dirck died intestate in 1802.

Note: "Somerset County Historical Quarterly" Vol. VI, Pg 205-206, 1917, indicates that Dirck's land purchases in Ohio occurred on 10 Dec. 1798.

In the Samuel Kanach Burying Ground, a foot stone with an inscription of "D.C.L." is adjacent to gravestone for Dirck's wife, Rebekah Low, who died on 10 Dec. 1795.
